Tracking what's happening with the London Mayoral campaign

We've just launched a new product for Delib called Opinion Tracker

In short, Opinion Tracker monitors what the general public are saying about different issues around the net (across forums, blogs, social networks etc.), and at the moment we've picked the London Mayoral elections to track.

The results are pretty interesting, as they provide a guide to the underlying mood of people towards the candidates, as well as a sense of how much buzz they're generating online and the kinds of conversations that are being had online about them.

The results of the past week show Boris and Ken creating a lot of buzz, but they seem to carry little positive sentiment. Brian is proving the dark horse, with little buzz but a fair amount of positive sentiment - although the general consensus that he's boring as hell! No one seems to care (still) about Sian Berry.

There's also some quite interesting trends emerging online, such as "Tube-stepping" - a new form of door-stepping from so-called citizen journalists.

Cricketing legend

The cricket season's starting to crank up again this year, with our team drinks happening this Thursday.
As a little reminder of my finest cricketing moment, check out this - the online team sheet for last year's match against Greyswood in which I scored a magnificent 58 - including 2 sixes!

Busy Busy

Life seems to get busier and busier by the day . . . meaning that blogging is getting pushed further and further back on the "to do" list.

Exciting updates on the socks front include finally getting a taste of the Pantherella "Salmon" sock - which is a truly wonderful sock. Salmon will be featured in our Tutti-Frutti range, that we're cooking up at the mo.

Also on the exciting front is the future arrival of the SocksforSir.com mobile sock mobile. The sock mobile will take the form of a v.cool Piaggio Ape - one of those cute little 3 wheel numbers - and I'm dreaming up the livery as I speak (or tap!).

Finally, I apologise to anyone who's been trying to buy socks in the last few days, apparently PayPal has been playing up (due to some technical updating shenanigans) which has meant the payment system has been down. Not great news for sales - it should be fixed soon though!
