ideas ideas ideas

It's always nice to see new ideas go from idea to reality. What I've realised over the years that it's fairly easy to realise an idea, however to realise an proper business idea (not just a concept) is much more difficult. That's what I've been doing with our aMap concept over the last 2 years.

From the start aMap was always a good idea, and an idea that was fairly easy to turn into reality, however the most difficult thing has been to actually turn it into a money making idea (or to lay down the foundations for the idea to make money).

I won't go into the details of what aMap is, as it's still all fairly secretive, however hopefully we'll be seeing the little argumentative blighters in the shops in 6 months time . . .

Leonski

Just got back from the launch party of the latest Leon restaurant in Southwark. This latest restaurant is v.cool (as always) and well positioned behind the Tate + it's v.exciting to see Allegra's baby expanding across London. Hurroooo!

Even more exciting is the fact that we're off skiing for a long weekend tomorrow (double hurrroooo!)

You can check out the snoooo via webcam here

Ill-trepreneur

Being an entrepreneur and being ill at the same time in principle doesn't really work that well. I'd say that one of the keys to being a successful entrepreneur is boundless energy, and sadly one of the main attributes of being ill is the fact that the "ill" (whatever that is) saps your energy.

So, having a bout of man-flu has really slowed me down over the last few days. Hey ho. On the upside of being ill, is that it kind of takes you to a different place from a thinking perspective. The chemical changes in a sick body (and mind) kinda change the way you look at things, and you (mainly for the good) get another perspective on life / work.

So being an ill-trepreneur isn't all that bad. In the good news section, is that we're frantically working with ad agency Ogilvy on a big pitch for Nestle at the mo which if it comes off should be v.cool + also I'm pushing ahead with my aMap project - trying to take it to market (which has meant pretty much setting up a publishing arm of our business, to add to the complexity of what we're already doing).

In the even better news section is that I'm off skiing to France next week, and there's snow - hurrah! Also, all the building work on my house in France is charging ahead - hurrooo + an additional building hurrooo comes in the form of the fact that Catherine's house is nearly finished (ish) so a move over Christmas is on the cards.
