Camp Christmas

X-mas party season is well and truly upon us . . . Tuesday was the night of our Bristol offiice dinner. All was v.nice, apart from the selection of cocktails on offer at the Greenhouse - where Bristol Media were hosting their x-mas party. Above is a photo of Gez (by day one of Delib's e-democracy consultants) camping it up with a super tasty cherry cocktail complete with glacier cherries mmmmm . . .

Happy apple-mas

The apple store on Regent Street has expanded since I was last there, and now has a super cool glass box lift in the centre of it. Though apparently it's not as cool as it's New York counterpart that is seemingly an empty glass box.

Trying to shop there on Saturday was a bit of a mare due to the tonnes of people all chasing the Apple dream . . .

Geekarama

Last night I had a v.interesting evening at a geek event called Mashup. The topic du jour was Advertising 2.0, which was super interesting as my company Rubber Republic is developing an ad network for advertainment (brand funded games and films). We've named the ad network Project Good - as it's, well, a good idea!

Snooooooooooo

I've just come back from skiing in the Pyrenees. The snow was amazing (for the time of year) and we got in two good days of skiing - yay! N.B. the smartie hat was Catherine's not mine! I was wearing it as an act of chivalry . . . 21st century chivalry!

What's in my bin?

A new pair of Pantherella's on today! mmmmmmmm, the pleasure!

Worth a read

This guy (Hugh) writes some pretty interesting stuff in his blog Gaping Void - his cartoons are particularly cool. I've seen him speak a couple of times, and he's got some interesting views on the world - especially the blogging geek world. He was the guy behind the whole Stormhoek thing + also partly helped get the Threshers voucher viral off the ground . . .

Liberty

This what all shops should look like at x-mas! Tonight Liberty held one of their store card holder evenings with loads of free wine and 20% - genius!

Geekarama

A while back during London Design Week I stumbled across these guys Digitalwellbeinglabs in the BlueBird shop - Kings Road. They sell super super cool digital stuff. I bought a copy of the Visual Thesaurus, as well as a Nabaztag - v.fun toys for the office!

If you're short of a prezzie for x-mas, you should definitely head King Road-wards and check out their stall, or visit their website.

Socks n Shoes

This weekend was a weekend of real indulgence - one of fine shoes, fine dining and, of course, fine socks. Saturday morning was spent in Northampton, visiting the Crockett and Jones factory shop where I bought a fabulour pair of black patent leather shoes (see above). Northampton was once famous for its shoe-industry, with the rise of China and India it's now more famous for the sofa shop "Sofa King" - whose advertising tagline is "Sofa King Good" - genius! The afternoon was spent in Bicester village - never to be visited again - and the evening split between dinner at Automat on Dover Street (worth visiting) and a club for my friend B's b-day.

Sunday was spent in the Medcalf pub (Exeter Market) for my girlfriend's b-day, which was a real joy. After the Medcalf we went in search for a black velvet - but ended up with a bottle of champagne and a few pints of Guinness as the barman didn't know how to make Black Velvet and our varied attempts seemed to fail!
